Trauma-Informed Legal Writing

Alison Wilkinson of BCLI will lead a workshop in trauma-informed writing for mediators. This course counts towards EDI credit for Mediate BC Roster mediators.

AI for Mediators

Join Brandon Hastings in an exploration of AI in mediation and in support of mediation. This workshop will count towards core mediation hours for Roster admission.

Building a Mediation Practice

This hybrid session will be available in-person at JIBC and online. Presenters will share tips and information on foundational topics (like setting fees and preparing retainer), marketing and building a presence, mentorship and skill development, and diversifying your career. The session will also include workshop time to begin applying information learned with peer feedback.

Relational Violence for Conflict Resolution Professionals

Cynthia Fidler and Dr. Lana Besel will lead a workshop on relational violence relevant to all areas of conflict resolution practice. This workshop will count towards core mediation hours for Roster admission.

Reflective Practice: Ethical Decision-making

Join Terry Neiman in a deep dive into ethical decision-making. This session will meet Ethics requirements for the Law Society of BC.

Better Online & Hybrid Mediation

This hybrid session will be available in-person at JIBC and online. Presenters will share best practices and tips on designing the process and managing participants with various combinations of online and in-person attendance.

Indigenous Approaches to Facilitated Decision-Making: An Applied Workshop

Kelly Douglas and Aaron Leakey will lead a full-day workshop in Indigenous approaches to facilitated decision-making processes. Participation in this session meets Mediate BC’s mandatory Indigenous cultural awareness requirement for Roster mediators and counts towards EDI credits. Please note that lunch is not provided but the onsite cafeteria will be open.
