Mediate BC offers training in mediation and conflict resolution for individuals interested in entering the conflict resolution field. As well, we offer courses that support practitioners seeking to qualify for Mediate BC’s practice designations.

This course will introduce students to the concepts and skills necessary to conduct a facilitative mediation in a variety of practice areas including civil, family and child protection.
This 46-hour, online course runs in the evenings for 12-weeks. It includes approximately eight hours of coached role play time.

This course builds on concepts and skills students have learned in Introduction or an equivalent course. Students will learn more advanced mediation theory and skills that can be applied to disputes in a variety of areas.
This course includes 46 hours of online class time, including approximately 20 hours of coached role play time.

This self-directed, online course is designed specifically for mediators. The course focus is awareness and understanding of Indigenous history as it impacts mediation, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and conflict resolution practice, and the importance of cultural safety in mediation.

This online workshop for mediators is offered periodically throughout the year to provide an opportunity for facilitated discussion of issues arising from Part 1 of this training and from practice.

This course provides mediators with an overview of provincial and federal legislation relevant to the practice of Family conflict resolution and an understanding of the intersection of mediation in this context with the courts.

Coached role plays provide an opportunity for new and experienced mediators to practice mediation skills and receive feedback from a skilled coach. Participants may choose from a range of scenarios including civil, family and child protection scenarios. Register for a single role play or for a package.
