FAQs

What is a Memorandum of Understanding? (MOU)

The MOU is a written document that outlines all agreements that were made during the mediation session(s). It is not legally binding. Clients can take the MOU to get legal advice on the agreements that have been made. If there is a need to re-negotiate the agreement another mediation session can be scheduled.  For information on how to formalize an MOU click here:  Formalizing-the-MOU.

What if Mediation “Doesn’t Work”?

Most clients who participate willingly in mediation find they gain some benefit from the mediation process even if they do not resolve all of their issues. In all cases referrals and resources will be made available to the clients. The mediators will offer clients options that may assist them to resolve the issues in other ways.
