Expansion of the "Notice to Mediate (Family) Regulation" Announced on Saturday, May 5, 2012

The Notice to Mediate (Family) Regulation was expanded province-wide on March 29, 2012.The announcement of the expansion was made on Saturday May 5, 2012. The expansion of the regulation is one of a series of steps government is taking to give families involved in legal disputes alternatives to court.

You will note that the "Quick Facts" section of the general press release contains an error.  Mediate BC is still responsible for the mediator appointment process, not a Judge, if parties cannot agree on a mutually acceptable mediator within 14 days after the notice is served.
