CMP Brightens Holidays for Homeless Youth

A big THANK YOU to those who contributed items to the Court Mediation Program’s donation drive for the Covenant House Christmas Backpack Program. Your generosity will brought warmth and joy to homeless young people over the holiday season.

Every year Covenant House collects items to fill up backpacks which are gifted to homeless youth aged 16 to 24. While they accept essentials like clothing and hygiene items, they also look for goodies like chocolates, movie passes and magazines to brighten the holiday for the many young people they serve.

After announcing the drive on November 21st, the CMP office promptly received stacks of new donations from mediators and staff. By December 7th, the CMP’s Christmas elves, Janette, Leah and Julie, each had to carry hefty loads of gifts to deliver to the Covenant House office.

For those who donated, give yourself a pat on the back for contributing to the Backpack Program’s success: http://www.covenanthousebc.org/blog/2012/12/christmas-backpacks-ready-christmas-party.
