How to Prepare for Family Mediation

Good preparation by all parties will assist in achieving successful outcomes from mediation.

Some things that you can do to prepare for your family mediation session include: 
    • Seek legal advice
    • Attend a free workshop. The Justice Education Society holds the following free workshops:
      • Parenting After Separation; and
      • Separated with Children-Dealing with the Finances 
    • Arrange for an Interpreter if needed.
    • Gather any supporting documents for the issues to be discussed in your mediation sessions.  These may include:
      • Court Orders / Written Agreements
      • Income statements / Personal Tax Assessments
      • Property Assessments
      • Investments / Debt and Banking Info
